With another 4th Of July upon us, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to showcase Lee Greenwood with my Country Throwback this week.

Of course, the song we'll focus on is 'God Bless The USA'.  Originally released in 1984, the song peaked at number seven on the Hot Country Singles Chart.  However, as time went on and things like the Gulf War and 9/11 occurred, the song gained in popularity.

Speaking of the 9/11 attacks, the video below is Lee Greenwood singing his signature song at game four of the 2001 World Series.  I bet this is the one performance of the song that he'll never forget.

Have a safe and happy 4th Of July!
