OK, so this post probably won't apply to everyone, but this is the 3rd time I've encountered this with a random GM vehicle.  Funny enough, it's happened in our parking lot each time.  Here at work I guess I'm someone that people go to when they've got a problem with their car.  Call me the parking lot mechanic, haha.  So anyway, the problem this time was the vehicle was whining when you turned the wheel.  First guess:  low on power steering.  But nobody could find where to add some fluid!  That's because GM has hidden it.

There was a time when everything was in plain view on vehicles.   It was the good old days when you could crawl inside the engine compartment because there was so much room.  Now, everything is compact, an they try to make them look pretty by covering up the working parts with fancy plastic cowlings.   I've seen this on multiple GM vehicles, and each time the stuff you need to get to is underneath.
