Where Does The Duluth School District Land In Minnesota’s Top 100?

Minnesota has always taken education seriously, according to US News & World Report’s latest survey of nationwide public education quality, Minnesota ranks 7th. Broken down further, how did Duluth do in the state?

The Minnesota poll was taken by backroundchecks.org and was rated using numbers from student performance (math and reading test scores), dropout rates, school funding, and area poverty rates. Data was collected from a total of 9,577 school districts.

#1 is Wayzata Public Schools, with 16 total schools, the reason they did so well is a remarkably high percentage of the district’s graduates go on to pursue a college education.

#2  Edina Public Schools, including six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Six of its schools have earned Blue Ribbon School Awards, and Edina High School was named the best in Newsweek in 2016

#3 Minnetonka Public Schools, with10 schools in its district 90% of its 2017 graduates went on to college among other things like the best workplace as named by the Star Tribine.

So how did schools from our area do? Not so well in the top 100. Cloquet school district only came in at #72, and Esko Public Schools at #22. Duluth, Two Harbors, Proctor, Hermantown, and other surrounding schools did not even place.
