The Northland has several oil and gas pipelines and another is proposed, the Sandpiper Pipeline.  While the new pipeline will create many jobs the environmentalists are hoping for a different route.  If you have an opinion you want to share today is the day to do it!

They have scheduled five meetings for public comment and the one in Duluth will take place today.  According to WDIO.com half of the 612 mile proposed pipeline will run through northern Minnesota.  Hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil will be carried from North Dakota to Superior, WI.  It's sure to create many jobs in our area, in fact this week more than 450 local pipeline workers got a refresher course in safety requirements.

Maybe you don't have an opinion yet and you only have questions, this would be a great meeting to attend to get answers.  Parking is free for the meeting will be held at the Great Lakes Ballroom (Lake Huron Room), Downtown Holiday Inn, 200 West 1st Street, Duluth, MN 55802.
