I don't think the average person knows what you have to sacrifice to serve your country. I think some do. I know that some of my friends that serve have supportive families as well. Without the support of your family it's hard to do the job.

That means that the wife or husband goes from a two parent house to a one parent house and has to take care of all the things to do around the house. Anyone who has had kids and had to handle a full day with them knows what I am talking about. Not to mention service people missing first steps, first word, etc.

When I first heard this song I was moved, it was sent to me by my buddy Derek who also values people that serve in the military.

According to littlethings.com Walker McGuire (the name of the band) enlisted the help of an unnamed Navy corpsman who saved the lives of many Marines who were badly injured in Iraq. He wrote these heartfelt lyrics, and with the music, became a great song.

Listen to this song, especially the lyrics, see if it doesn't make you feel something.
