What IS a Tom and Jerry, Besides a Traditional Christmas Cocktail? [Video]

Christmas Cocktail: Tom and Jerry
youtube

A Tom and Jerry is a traditional Christmastime cocktail that a British journalist came up with in the 1820s. It is most commonly seen in Wisconsin and  Minnesota and uses eggnog with brandy and rum added, it can be served hot (my choice), or cold.Another method uses egg whites, beaten stiff, with the yolks and sugar folded back in, and vanilla extract added. A few spoonfuls are added to a mug, then hot water and rum are added, and it is topped with nutmeg.  Or, the easiest route would be buy the Tom and Jerry mix already made :)
