Getting around in downtown Duluth just got a bit easier thanks to the temporary skywalk that opened this past week.  It won't be long and soon what is now temporary will be permanently opened adding an exciting new dimension to getting around downtown.

The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) announced the opening of the temporary skywalk link between the Wells Fargo Bank and the Northwest Passage last week.

Because they had to do demolition to begin work on the new Multimodal Transportation Center, it had required the removal of a critical section of the skywalk link to the Wells Fargo Bank. A new temporary structure has been constructed, re-establishing the direct connection between the downtown area and the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC).

Now pedestrian that travel between the DECC and the downtown area through the Northwest Passage will see the skywalk return to normal access hours. Because this is now open, the DTA shuttle buses that were being operated in the interim between the DECC and downtown Duluth will be discontinued.
