Even if we HAD luxury toilet paper, I would still be confronted with what you see in this picture in my home!  A few weeks ago I blogged about my friend's water saving toilet.  It had two buttons, one for #1 and one for #2.  She said it was water saving and thus, money saving.  Now I know what everyone is saving money for:  luxury toilet paper!?!?!?

Not exactly what I expected to hear people are splurging on, but statics show that sales of what is considered luxury toilet paper has increased by 70%.  Now, my idea of luxury is softer, thicker and perhaps scented (not sure if that would be a good thing).   However, luxury can be defined in many ways, quilted or lotioned, for example.  I must be a simple girl, because 2-ply is all I demand (and that there is some left on the roll or GET A NEW ONE!).  It's just like the old statement "be kind and rewind" back when VCR tapes were rented.  Always leave it ready to roll for the next person.  Is that too much to ask?

Does anyone else feel that you're just flushing money down the toilet, literally, if you purchase luxury toilet paper?
