If you live in the vicinity of Grand Avenue and 62 Avenue West, and you work during the day, this probably won't affect you get home.  Those that are home or getting ready to head out, you should be aware that the City of Duluth is asking that you conserve water, here's why.

The work will take place on Tuesday October 13th.   They plan to shut down the water main on Grand Ave at 62nd Avenue West. If you live in the immediate vicinity you will not have water service from 8:30 AM -5:00 PM on that day. If you're a resident who will be affected with loss of water service during that time will. you will either be personally contacted by the City staff Utility Inspector or by written notice via a door
hanger.
If you are a  City residents west of I-35 including Norton Park, Riverside, Gary New-Duluth,
and Fon du Lac you may experience lower than normal flow rates or water pressure drops until the repairs are completed. Completion is expected by 5 PM on October 13th, at which point water pressure and flow should return to normal.
An old valve leaking in Grand Avenue is the reason for the needed work and the goal is to have it repaired before MnDOT paves over the location.
Questions and concerns can be directed to City of Duluth Engineer, Tom Pfeffer. Tom can be reached at 218-730-5104 or tpfeffer@duluthmn.gov.

As always, the City thanks the public for their cooperation and patience.
