Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the tipping of the roses last Tuesday.  A second volunteer session was scheduled for tomorrow, however the wet weather has changed those plans with the City of Duluth.

Why do we tip the roses?  Because of our extreme weather in Minnesota, roses are laid-over into trenches for protection from the elements. In the spring the roses are then "raised". (we'll be asking for volunteers then too).

Whether you are an experienced master gardener or just wanted to learn, experts of the process were going to be on hand to teach willing volunteers of all skill levels and ages. Unfortunately because of the rainy forecast today into tomorrow morning (October 24, 2014) they have determined the soil will be to wet to tip the roses at 12th and 13th Avenue East and London Road.

They will NOT be rescheduling this event.  If you have questions you can contact Cheryl at 218-393-9879 or cskafte@duluthmn.gov.
