Virginia Firefighters Will “Fill The Boot” For The MDA

Many of us have "filled the boot" in Duluth or Superior, either on the street corner, or at a parade.

Wednesday,  it's Virginia's turn.  The International Association of Fire Fighters Local #390 will be waiting for you and your donation in the 58th Annual event.  Yes, 58th ANNUAL!  On Wednesday, May 9, they will be at Highway 53 & 12th Avenue South with their empty boots in hand to collect your dollars and change in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

It's a tradition that has been growing since it started in 1954.  The firefighters are proud to be involved with an organization that helps local families affected by one of 42 neuromuscular diseases.

MDA is a voluntary health agency that works in each local community to help children and adults who are affected by neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA's comprehensive medical services and research programs.
