Report: Vikings Trade Draft Pick for Wide Receiver Mike Wallace

Multiple sources around the NFL are reporting the Minnesota Vikings have a deal in place with the Miami Dolphins to acquire wide receiver Mike Wallace. The deal has the Vikings giving Miami a 5th round pick in the draft, while the Dolphins get Wallace and a 7th round pick in return.

Wallace just ended his second year in a huge contract with the Dolphins, posting 1,792 yards and 15 touchdowns over his two years with Miami. While he fell short of a 1,000 yard season with the Dolphins, he had couple 1,000+ yard seasons for Pittsburgh during his first few years in the league.

One major factor that is unclear at this point is that he has a pretty hefty price tag that comes with his current contract. There are no details right now on whether or not he has agreed to restructure his deal after what some are calling an underperformance during his time in Miami. Wallace is due to make base salaries of $9.85 million in 2015, $11.45 million in 2016 and $11.45 million in 2017.

In any case, the move gives Teddy Bridgewater an explosive playmaker that he can throw the ball to; assuming Wallace comes to play.
