For the Vikings to determine whether Christian Ponder is truly an NFL starting quarterback, they have to get wide receivers around him who have solid skill sets.  Trading Percy Harvin was a step backwards, but today they hope to have taken a step back in the right direction by signing free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings.

According to ESPN.com, Jennings signed a 5 year contract.  The contract has a maximum value of $47.5 mlllion, with $18 million guaranteed. The contract is worth a minimum of $27 million over the first three years, and could be as much as $28.5 million over the first three years if he goes to the Pro Bowl, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

I still think the Vikings need to sign a few more free agents to strengthen their secondary and linebacker corps, and maybe even another wide receiver.  Then, they can focus on the draft where a blue chip wide receiver and defensive lineman await them in the first round if things fall into place.
