God Bless our Veterans of all military services who have sacrificed for you and I.  Today is Veteran's Day, a day to honor and thank those that have served our Country.  Despite the snow storm yesterday and the winter weather advisory in place until noon, the march and ceremony will go on as scheduled.

The Veteran's Day March will be held in Downtown Duluth starting at 10:00 am in front of the Depot on Michigan street.  After a brief ceremony it will move up to 5th Ave W to Superior Street, then east bound in the lower lane to Lake Avenue, turning right and traveling down the Lake Avenue Viaduct to Railroad Street where it turns right taking Railroad street to the North gate of the DECC. To facilitate event setup, Michigan Street in front of the Depot will be closed to thru traffic starting at 09:00 am. The March should finish approximately 11:00 am.

During the event, no traffic will be allowed in the East bound lane of Superior street from 5th Avenue West to Lake Avenue, in the south bound lane of Lake Avenue from Superior street to Railroad street, or on westbound Railroad street from Lake Avenue to the DECC north gate.

You are then invited to the Great Lakes Ballroom at the DECC to participate in an event to honor our local vets.  Everyone is invited and parking is FREE.  Over 600 students will participate in the event.  The event marks the 96th anniversary of the end of World War I, which ended on 11.11.1918 at 11:00a.

Drivers are urged to use caution when driving in the area of the event.
