You may have noticed a gathering of emergency vehicles and the buzz of a Life Link III Helicopter around the UW-Superior campus this evening. Here's what they were up to.

Local law enforcement and emergency response crews were on the scene for a few hours for a training exercise that focused on responding to a violent threat, such as an active shooter. Campus Public Safety Officers, Superior Police, Douglas County Sheriff's Department, Superior Fire Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance coordinated training efforts that included drills on rescuing victims in such an emergency situation.

Along with ground crews and vehicles, a Life Link III helicopter was on the scene for training, making a landing at Ole Haugsrud Stadium. Here's footage of the landing, courtesy of staff member Tony Hart.
