The City of Duluth will conduct repairs on a sewer manhole on Tuesday, March 13th on McCuen Street at 96th Ave West.  The work will require both lanes to be closed.  Because of the lane closure, there will be no access to the Oliver Bridge while work is being done.

The city says the repairs are expected to begin at 9am and should be finished and reopened to traffic by 8pm.

The manhole is located in the middle of the road, so that's the reason both lanes are required to be closed. This will cause a disruption for commuters who are trying to access Oliver, Wisconsin from Gary New Duluth.

Alternate routes of course would be to take the Bong Bridge from West Duluth, or travel south on Highway 23 and take Highway 4 East from Wrenshall to South Superior.

The Oliver Bridge is no stranger to closures, as the two year rehabilitation project was just completed in November.
