It's hard to believe in just months, we'll strolling through the beautiful Rose Garden in the City of Duluth near Lake Superior, without a jacket on, because as I write this blog, we are expecting snow, but it's true.  Of course, to reap the benefits of the garden's beauty, the hard work has to start now and you're help is needed.

It happens annually in Duluth the “raising of the roses” in the popular Lakewalk Rose Garden.  Want to get in on the fun?  Volunteers are invited to join in on this annual spring tradition and there are two upcoming opportunities to do so.

Duluth Parks and Recreation division is cancelling the "Raising of the Roses" activity that was planned for TODAY, April 29 in the Rose Garden. At this time, the May 3 event from 9:00 to Noon will still take place.

Even beginners are welcome because City staff and representatives from the Lake Superior Rose Society will be on hand to teach the volunteers the spring steps of the Minnesota tip winterizing method for tender roses.  Gain knowledge while you're helping with one of the most visited areas of Duluth by locals and tourists!

Volunteers are invited to show up at the Rose Garden during the times listed above and are encouraged to dress for the weather. This is an all ages event, however, youth under 18 are required to have parent/guardian permission.
