Construction in the Twin Ports continues with work being done on the Bong Bridge and the opening of it's roundabout, the new Whole Foods Co-op in West Duluth is coming along nicely, as well as the maurices Corporation building and DTA's downtown transportation center (to name just a few).  There are additional nighttime closures of Northbound I-35 that you should be aware of.

There isn't too much change to report as the construction continues, but this is the latest we got from Heath Hickok, Director of Marketing at the DTA.

Additional nighttime closures of northbound I-35 are scheduled to continue tomorrow,  Wednesday, August 26 at 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday August 30, 2015 also at 9:00 p.m. with daytime partial-lane closures continuing to accommodate work on the Northwest Passage skywalk.

The detour routing during these nighttime closures is for northbound I-35 traffic to exit via the 5th Avenue West exit ramp and go across 5th Avenue West to re-enter the freeway via the recently opened on-ramp.

The daytime construction work will continue and involves single lane closures on both southbound I-35 and northbound I-35.

The Duluth Transit Authority’s (DTA) DECC & Downtown Shuttle Bus (Route 22) will continue to run on Railroad Street during weekdays with the main DECC stop located just below the Northwest Passage.

Thank you to Heath Hickok, the DTA Director of Marketing for diligently sharing this information with us, so we can keep you in the know.  Check back often for updates.
