Have you ever been to the planetarium at UMD?  As a child I use to love going there for field trips.  It was so much fun for us kids and interesting for the chaperones.  If you haven't been there or haven't been there for some time, consider going during Astronomy Day.

It's actually VERY relaxing to sit in the dark, peering up at the ceiling learning about the constellations.  But, Astronomy Day, which was created back in 1973, is so much more than that for all ages.   It's actually a nationally recognized holiday showcasing shows, presentations, super cool virtual reality experiences and hands-on educational activities.  It's put on by the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium partners along with UMD’s Astronomy Club and the Arrowhead Astronomical Society on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

The best part, it's free (though a $4 suggested donation is appreciated).  It will be held at the Planetarium on UMD’s campus1023 University Drive.  More information can be found by emailing planet@d.umn.edu or calling (218) 726-7129.
