The debate has been going on for years on whether or not to legalize marijuana.  Some states, like Colorado, have passed medicinal Marijuana laws.  A recent report shows that those states that have legalized marijuana have seen a suprising effect - less traffic fatalities.  Here's why.

Younger people in their 20s in those states are smoking marijuana and drinking less alcohol.  There's no question about how dangerous drinking and driving can be.  People who are drunk tend to drive faster, take bigger risks, and get in fatal accidents.  Marijuana generally doesn't affect people in those ways.  Another suprising fact in this study is that in states that legalize marijuana there is a 19% decrease in fatalities in people in their 20s.
