Tool Lending Library Is In The Twin Ports
It has happened many times to me in the kitchen, you want to start a project, but don’t have all the tools OR ingredients you need to complete it.
If you’re starting a “home project” and find that you don’t have all the tools you need, before you buy, check out the “tool-lending library”. It’s free!
According to the Duluth News Tribune, it’s the combined efforts of Duluth’s Neighborhood Housing Services and the Northern Communities Land Trust. The program actually started in 2010 and of course, started small. Since then, grants have been secured to increase the type and amounts of tools available for lending. Jigsaws, weed whackers, drills, and miter saws. They’re all available to be borrowed for up to two weeks.
There is no restrictions on who can borrow the tools, it’s not based on income or location of the family’s home. The tool library’s hours are Monday through Friday, 9a-5p and is located in the basement at Neighborhood Housing Services, 224 East 4th Street. They prefer you call ahead to make sure the tools are available for the time-frame you’ll be needing them.
