Three best friends from UMD are in the running for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe.

Nick Anderson, Andrew Achter and Brandon Colucci are finalists in the Red Bull "Can You Make It?" race.

Here's how it works: the company asked "adventurous and up-for-anything" university students to create a unique, one minute video explaining why they deserve to take part in the competition.

The public was tasked with voting for their favorites from each country. From here, a panel of judges will pick which of the final groups will win a trip to Europe to compete against each other for a final prize.

There is a catch, though. This isn't any regular trip to Europe. The final teams will hand over their money and cell phones in exchange for 24 cans of Red Bull and a smartphone. They will trek across Europe, starting in different cities, to the final destination of Amsterdam, using the energy drink as currency. The winner's will get a big (but yet-to-be-announced) prize.

In their amazing submission, these three best friends and UMD students can be seen taking on all the Northland has to offer, jet skiing, rollerblading through the winding streets, tubing, golfing and doing back flips off of a canyon. Those are just a few of the shots.

Iconic Northland landmarks also make the cut, including the Aerial Lift Bridge.

The finalists will be chosen on March 6th at 10 a.m. Fingers crossed for Team UMD!
