Groceries have become so expensive in recent years that I usually show by price, not by brand.  One of the things I haven't been able to find a good replacement for is name brand American singles cheese slices.

I found these for a dollar cheaper than Kraft American Singles at Super One the other day.  The price was 1.99, and I thought it would be worth a try.

I started grilling burgers with the cheese ready to go.  When the burgers are almost ready I always put the cheese on top to melt it to the beef.   These slices did not melt.   I thought maybe I wasn't using high enough heat.  Oh well.

The next day, I put some of the cheese on a leftover burger and threw it in the microwave.  I microwaved the darn cheese for over a minute, and it never melted.

Is this something I want to eat?  How processed is this?
