The buzz is amazing around the upcoming Keith Urban concert in Duluth.  While I was putting together the blog about my 5 favorite Keith Urban songs, I discovered some very old footage of the superstar.

Here are three such videos, showing Keith Urban developing into the performer he is today:

KEITH URBAN'S PERFORMS DOLLY PARTON'S "APPLEJACK"

The video claims this was from 1978, which means Keith would have been 11 years old here, but that date isn't confirmed.  What I find funny is that even at such a young age, you can tell it's him by his mannerisms while playing the guitar.  Perhaps he'll wear that outfit in Duluth.

KEITH URBAN PERFORMS AN AIR SUPPLY SONG ON A TELEVISION SHOW

This video is from 1983, when Keith was a 16 year-old who wanted to grow up to be a radio announcer, according to the host.  Dream big, Keith, dream big.  What I find funny about this video is his song choice:  Air Supply's "All Out Of Love"?!  The judges aren't too kind here, but he's only 16 and now he officially has the last laugh.

KEITH URBAN PERFORMS "GOT IT BAD"  AT AGE 23

Keith's platinum blonde hair nearly steals the show from this performance on a show called Hey, Hey It's Saturday.  Just wait until you hear the high note Keith strives for at the end of this song!

I'm sure Keith loves that fact that I've dug up these early performances, but you have to start somewhere.  Everything you do in your past leads you to where you are now so I'm sure he has no regrets, well except for that high note.

Good luck getting your Keith Urban tickets and remember that even after this week, we still have more tickets to give away.
