The season 6 finale of TWD left us on a cliffhanger, as was promised.  But I have a problem with the way they did it and the use of cliffhangers all season long.  In fact, when the credits rolled I, I rolled my eyes not believing that they've done it again.  [SPOILERS AHEAD]

The episode was 90 minutes long, and it definitely didn't have to be.  We all knew that the ending would finally reveal Negan.  That was a sure thing, and the question we were asking was who was going to get killed this finale?  We knew it would be someone.  They had us guessing the entire episode who the core character death would be.

And then not deliver it?  Come on, Walking Dead.  That's just a cheap cliffhanger.  You didn't need that.  There's so many more ways to give us what we knew was coming and keep us looking forward to the next season.

What did work:

There was some pretty good tension as you saw how hopeless Rick was as he realized they were in trouble.  I have never seen a more helpless situation that the gang has been in.   This even tops the terminus slaughter house.

Negan wasn't a disappointment.  The scene gives the show a whole new comic book like feel that I haven't experienced before.   I don't quite understand why it took so long for the Saviors to flex their muscles and show their strength, but anyway it works.

My biggest beef with The Walking Dead this season is there has just been too many cheap deaths and cheap cliffhangers (like Glenn's dumpster dive).  I want to feel a part of the show, like I'm along for the ride.  Not like I'm looking in and missing half the action.  This season has had far too much of it.

Now the title of this may be "The Last Episode I Watch," but I will probably keep watching for a while longer.  I just don't have a lot of hope left.  We will see what Season 7 brings.
