Wet and wild!  That's how the two new river otters are described at the Great Lakes Aquarium.  Have you met them yet?  If you haven't had the chance to welcome them in person, no worries, now you can greet them by name, thanks to nearly 5,000 votes!

According to the Northland's News Center, the contest was announced to name the two young otters that replace one that died last year and one that was recently retired at the age of 17. (He plans to spend more time with family and get out on the golf course a little more).

According to Allison Iacone of the Aquarium, there were five pair of names to choose from.  There were nearly 5,000 votes casts and 40% chose to name them, Agate and Ore.  Very fitting for the Twin Ports!

The otters come from Louisiana where they were rescued from traps.
