Congratulations to the 80th Miss Minnesota, Rachel Latuff.  For some in the Northland, her name may sound familiar.  That's because she graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  According to Pageantsnews.com she graduated in 2013 with Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors and now is a secondary arts teacher at a twin cities school.

It's cool to know that she was part of our Northland community and will now be representing our state for the title of the 95th Miss America on Sunday, September 13 at 9:00 PM ET on ABC .  Rachel had 26 other contestants to vying for the Miss Minnesota crown. Those contestants were judged on six different categories.  Rachel's platform reflects her studies at UMD, "Teaching the Heart:  Building the Social and Emotional Wellness of Youth and Their Teachers".

I know that Rachel will represent our state very well, she's had lots of practice being crowned.  She's held the titles of Miss Olmsted County 2015, Miss Saint Paul 2014 and Miss Midwest 2012.  Congratulations on your new title of Miss Minnesota Rachel, can't wait to watch you walk the runway this September!
