I have had the honor of emceeing the Northland Community Wellness Day for the past two years and I've watched the event continue to grow both in exhibits and community interest.  It's coming up this Saturday and I hope you can make it!  One of the growths this year is that the Diabetes Walk will be held in conjunction with NCWD.  It's truly a day the family can enjoy for free with over 75 exhibits.

This annual event provides education and resources that promote healthy families and communities.  It's coming up this Saturday, April 9 from 10a-2p at the UMD Romano Gym with free admission and parking.

When I say families, I mean it!  Bring the kids so they can experience free rock climbing, face painting and crafts and meet UMD athletes and Champ the Bulldog.  You can make memories as a family by taking the guided family hike at 10:30 and make sure to stop and visit with the animals at the zoomobile from 10a-1p.

The free workshop and presentations are both interesting and informative:

10:30am – Positive Dementia Paths
Creating Confident Caregivers

11:15am – Duluth Grill
What’s in the box? Creative Cooking with CSA/Farm Share Produce

12:00pm – Ecolibrium3
Knowledge Saves Power (Energy Efficiency)

12:45pm – E3 Twin Ports
Experience the Benefits of Movement in Nature

1:30pm – Duluth Police Department
K-9 Unit Demonstration

But wait, there's more!  There will be over 70 exhibitors talking about health and wellness, finance, public safety and sustainability. One of my favorite parts of the day is the incredible food offerings.  I already know I'm going for the Pita Chips with Spicy Hummus.
