Two of our iconic landmarks, the Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will, color up on Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13th for Charlene's Lights, a Foundation for Ovarian Cancer. It will provide fantastic photo ops and there are other events planned for you to get involved.

The Mission of Charlene’s Light

  • Educate women and the community about symptoms of ovarian cancer
  • Raise money for ovarian cancer research
  • Provide support and hope for patients and families

This is the second year of this event that will help raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer which is a silent and often deadly type of cancer.  According to WDIO.com, all proceeds from the three day event will be used for research, patient support an education in Minnesota.

Thursday, September 11

There will be a dinner at Applebee’s Duluth on Thursday evening between 5-11pm, and 15% of sales will go to Charlene’s Light.

Friday, September 12th

Buffalo Wild Wings (Miller Trunk Hwy in Duluth) is a another restaurant joining forces with Charlene’s Light in the fight against ovarian cancer! They will donate 10% of sales from 5-10pm.

At dusk, the 2014 Inaugural Bridge Lighting will take place and you'll be able to watch the horizon turn teal. You can be part of a special memorial tribute to Elizabeth Busche, JoAnn Martin, and Diana Lucas with the lighting of the Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower.

Saturday, September 13th, 6:00 p.m.

A dinner, live entertainment, a wine auction, and silent auction will be held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) from the Harbor Side Ballroom with its spectacular panoramic views of Lake Superior. The evening will feature musical entertainment by Alison Scott & Band. Credit cards will be accepted at the event this year.
