The Ion Ice Auger added a new feature in their most recent version that may eliminate the need for another piece of ice fishing equipment. We decided to test it. The feature is called "slush-flushing reverse", and it is designed to reverse the direction of the auger to push the ice shavings down the hole, where they are supposed to hopefully stay.

After our test, we found this to be a great feature. Running the auger in reverse once for a few seconds cleaned the hole pretty well, and a second run made it almost perfect. For people that prefer a completely perfect ice hole, you may not find this feature totally up to snuff. There are a few remains that are left in the hole.

I'm giving this feature a 4 out of 5, with the key value of this feature being a great way to clean holes in a fish house without having to haul a bucket of slush out.
