Construction season is in full swing and no Northland area is immune.  This time the road closures are affecting the Iron Range.  For at least half the summer there will be temporary road closures to allow resurfacing of 21 miles.

 

The two major road construction projects have started and the result will be 21 miles of newly resurfaced roadways.

14.1 miles of the roadway will affect Forbes.  The County State Aid Highway 16 which is also known to the locals as Townline Road.  According to WDIO.com, construction will stretch from highway 53 to County Road 5.

The other 6.5 miles of County State Aid 25 is near the town of Cherry, Highway 37 and U.S. Highway 169.

Motorists traveling in these areas should know that the road closures are expected to last through the end of July.  You are urged to obey traffic laws and the work speed zones.  Cost for the projects cumulatively total $5.2 million dollars.
