Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now Tour draws to a close in New York City on Tuesday (Nov. 22), and the 21-year-old superstar is going out with a bang. At her first of two shows at Madison Square Garden on Monday, Swift invited yet another surprise guest to sing with her. This time, it was Goo Goo Dolls’ Johnny Rzeznik there to perform the band’s biggest hit, ‘Iris.’

Swift was sly about welcoming the singer to the stage, and from the sea of screams that erupted, it was clear that no one was the wiser before the show. “Arguably one of the greatest songs ever written is ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls,” the ‘Love Story’ songstress told her audience, adding that the only thing that could make it better would be if he were there in person to perform the song with her.

Like magic, Rzeznik popped up from the floor of the stage in a cloud of smoke, holding a red acoustic guitar. Swift joined him at the front of the stage as he began to sing the intro, and both artists strummed their respective acoustic guitars as the audience sang along to the 1998 single.

The highlight of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now Tour has been surprise guests, as fans never know which artists, and from which genre, will pop up at their local show. To date, the CMA and AMA Entertainer of the Year has welcomed Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, B.o.B., Hayley Williams, Switchfoot, Nelly and more to the stage, as well as country crooners Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Ronnie Dunn and Darius Rucker, most recently.
