When Is The Minnesota Fishing Opener? Perhaps A Week Early This Year
April 5, 2012 This amendment would only impact this year. It is now in the hands of Governor Mark Dayton to sign. Proponents of the bill say that it avoids a Mother's Day conflict with the Minnesota opener and it takes advantage of the warmer weather the state has experienced lately. Opposition comes primarily from resort owners who say this short notice is causing them stress in preparation and meeting customers needs.
