The amazing Northland tradition is just over one month away! If you have always wanted to experience Grandma’s Marathon but running just isn’t for you, then volunteering is the perfect solution.
April 2, 2013 Grandma's Marathon is grateful for their numerous volunteers that put in countless hours before, during and after the race. For years, they have recognized, a public employee or elected official that is worthy of receiving the prestigious Rudy Perpich Public Service Award. Who will you nominate this year??
We're already at capacity for our 2nd Annual Dirty Chicks ATV Ride presented by Benna Ford Roush! Thanks to everyone who registered, we can't wait to get dirty with you! While it's going to be a fantastic day of hanging with friends and hopefully getting as dirty as possible on the trails in Sturgeon Lake, we're also doing it to raise awareness and donations for WINDOW Victim Services.
March 21, 2013 Remember when the bookmobile use to come to your neighborhood? Ok, well...I don't. We didn't have that service in the rural area of Wrenshall when I was growing up. But, I did ride my bike to the Carlton Public Library in the summer, I loved reading! The Duluth Public Library is starting a service reminiscent of the bookmobile, but will use volunteers delivering to shut-ins. What a great idea!

The trail that needs to be constructed this Saturday will be a gravel walking path from the new Lincoln Park Middle School to Devonshire Street. It is designed to give those students who walk to school, a quick easy route to the lower streets and Grand Avenue. Can you help?

Based on the nomination letter written by a member of the Duluth Police force, I can't believe she hasn't won it sooner and am grateful for her hardwork and dedication to our community
August 31, 2012 Interested in law enforcement? Before you enroll in a college course, get a taste of the real thing and volunteer your time to be in the Explorers Post with the Duluth Police Department. One stipulation is that you must be between the ages of 14-20. If you aren't interested in volunteering, but want to learn more about the responsibilities of our police officers, there is an 11 week course that answers all your questions, both in a classroom and in the field. July 10, 2012 Do you have a bit of time to lend to the Parks and Rec Department of the City of Duluth? There are several projects that are in need of volunteers to be completed. Grab some friends and family members and make memories, while you help the City's nature trails.
