The master

Yesterday, for the first time, I saw a trailer for a movie called "The Master."  Immediately in grabbed my interest because of the lead actors Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquing Phoenix, and the clips were very powerful for being as short as they were.   The film was released on a very limited screenings this past weekend and did quite well.

How do you define a hit? What's more important: total gross or actual audience enthusiasm? The answer to this question will help us decide who actually won the weekend.
