Sugarland Asked to Give Deposition in Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse Case

When Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush saw the rigging of the giant stage at the Indiana State Fair come crashing tragically around them last summer, they likely felt thankful to be alive first, and second, a horrible grief at the whole situation. What they couldn’t possibly have anticipated in that moment was the onslaught of court cases and finger pointing and legalities that would inevitably ensue.

Sugarland Deny Being at Fault for Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse

Sugarland have long been embroiled in a lawsuit surrounding the August 13, 2011 stage collapse at their show at the Indiana State Fair. Now, responding to lawsuits coming at them, they’re claiming one last time that the incident, which left seven dead and more than 40 injured, was not their fault.

Sugarland’s Attorney Says Duo Not Responsible For Indiana State Fair Tragedy

Based on what I've read of this tragic incident, I don't believe the duo are responsible for the stage collapse that ultimately killed fans.  I've worked with booking bands and they have very little say in the venue in which they play, they just have promoters sign off that the setup will be secure.  Obviously, that did not happen here but the duo couldn't have know about things like concrete slabs.  Do you agree?

An attorney for Sugarland denies the duo's responsibility in connection with last year's tragedy at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis. Seven people were killed and more than 40 injured when high winds blew down stage scaffolding and equipment prior to their Aug. 13 concert.

Sugarland Sued Over Stage Collapse In Indianapolis

I don't know if I agree with this.  It wasn't Sugarland's fault, they were also victims in this situation.  Can you imagine the emotions they are and will carry with them from the stage collapsing on fans that were waiting to see them at a fair in Indianapolis?  Still, the storm was an act of God and it wasn't Jennifer and Kristian decision alone, WHEN to call the show.   Read what E! Online has to say about the unfortunate situation and tell me if you think they should be included in the law suit.
