City of Duluth Explains Road Salt Ineffectiveness and What to Expect

First everyone talked about the storm coming and how much snow we could potentially get.  Then, it was here, we talked about school closings and the fact that no travel was suggested.  Now that's it's over and the snow has been moved off the roads, we're talking about the build up of ice that makes our ride bumpy, rough and uncomfortable.  The City of Duluth has been out trying to remedy the situation but there's a good explanation why the roads haven't been cleared completely.

Important Travel Advisory and Snow Removal Info from the City of Duluth

The National Weather Service has predicted the next phase of the snowstorm will result in at least 15 additional inches of snow in the area accompanied by strong winds and falling temperatures.  This is a dangerous storm and the City of Duluth advises no travel.

City of Duluth Winter Reminder Regarding Snow Removal

Seems odd doesn't it, no snow in the twin ports.......yet.  I'm sure it's coming, two years ago on Christmas Eve we had a snowstorm, so one could literally be around the bend.

Many people either don't know, or have forgotten what their community responsibility is when it comes to snow removal.  The City of Duluth sent out Winter Reminders recently, in case you missed it, I'll give you the scoop and the link to connect with the City of Duluth website.
