Amanda Todd was a bullied teen who took her own life. She left behind this video that describes how other kids acted towards her. It is so heartbreaking, you just want to hug her and tell her it's all going to be okay and that life will catch up to the evil kids in her class. Sadly, Amanda never realized that.
With school getting underway again, there are supplies and things most kids need and want. There are some they shouldn't have, and good reasons why.
When I was a student I'd be all for this! As a working parent, it sounds like a nightmare to make sure the kids would have programs and supervision on the off days. One of their proposed plans is giving the kids every other Monday off, which I think is too confusing to schedule around. If you must do this to save money, I'd say end the school year earlier. I'm fine with extending the school days by 36 minutes so kids would still get the same amount of total class time.
If Burnsville does this and it works, I bet other communities would consider it. Should Duluth or any Northland school districts look into the following plan?

The investigation into the Lester Park Elementary School playground fire has been completed by authorities. Findings show the incident was indeed arson, as many locals suspected since news broke over the weekend. The playground, which had just recently been completed, caught fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 1.
