It's become a tradition for some, whether it's spectating, running, volunteering or even walking.  Why not be part of Minnesota's Oldest Road Race~the Park Point 5 Miler.  It's absolutely awesome running the Point, so picturesque and if you get too hot, you can just take a dip in Lake Superior!  Sign up SOON!

Ed. The Greater Downtown Council is happy to again partner with the YMCA with sponsorship of the Sidewalk Shuffle. This scenic 5K run and walk is July 10th, on the first day of the Sidewalk Days Festival, and it supports the Duluth YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign!

You could see the smiles on their faces as they were running the Whipper Snapper races last Friday, June 21.  It was the true kick-off to all of Grandma's Marathon races.  Each participant was proud to receive a ribbon for their efforts.  Are they hooked?  The Rhubarb Festival will have a Children's Run around Leif Erickson Park, then stick around for the rest of the fun and good eats!

Grandma’s Marathon weekend kicked off tonight with the William A. Irvin 5K ― the first of numerous races scheduled for the 37th annual event.

Grandma’s Marathon weekend officially kicked off with the Essentia Health Fitness & Health Expo. The free event is open right now until 9 p.m.  Everyone can walk around and see what's new in running gear and other products.

Grandmas Marathon weekend promises to once again bring elite athletes into town, especially with the USA Half Marathon Championships taking place once again.  A pair of Olympians from last year’s Summer Games in London head the list of Americans set to race in Saturday’s USA Half Marathon Championships.

It's Grandmas Marathon week and if you are a runner looking for extra motivation, you can enjoy another great line-up of speakers this year.  All speakers will be in Duluth Friday, June 21 in Edmund Fitzgerald Hall at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. As we get to the final days before Grandma's Marathon, we took some time this morning to talk to Bob Gustafson, public relations director about upcoming events starting with the Health Expo this Thursday.

Grandma’s Marathon has announced the recipients of its annual Ron Daws Ambassador Award and Verizon Wireless Award of Excellence, as well as its 2013 Hall of Fame class.

Trish Staine, 33, of Duluth got the biggest surprise early this week. Having not gained any weight and her cycle never changed, she knew she was uncomfortable and having back pain. Having a baby, nope! She continued to training, after all, she's not pregnant, in fact, that was the last thing she thought.
