Thanksgiving means a lot annual traditions will once again take place.  For me, one such tradition is running the Gobble Gallop in downtown Duluth.  Ten years ago, I ran the very first Gobble Gallop and there were around 500 of us out there on that chilly morning.  Now, not only has the race grown but I have great company to run with as I have family members joining me every year.

This Sunday the Minnesota Mile races get underway. They start at a location near Fitgers and finish close to the Holiday Center in Downtown Duluth. People can line up on both sides of Superior Street and join the runners later at the Holiday Center for Awards. Parking will be hard but I've included the traffic information.

Training for this year's Grandma's Marathon Half was going great, better than expected.  My time had improved by 1:30 per mile because I had started "toe running", I had one 13.1 and one 14.3 mile under my belt.  Then less than two weeks out from my 15th consecutive half marathon, I was told I couldn't run.
