July 13, 2011 This year looks pretty good for the runners/walkers of Grandma's Marathon Park Point 5 Miler. Not too hot, and no rain!!! Are you up for the challenge? May 26, 2011 Sometimes it's a little difficult to find a way to burn off the energy that a 3 year old has. I don't know where it comes from, but I'm sure that if we could somehow tap into that energy, our energy crisis would be taken care of
April 15, 2011 The weather forecast for this Saturday, April 16, is calling for cold temps and snow. Not exactly ideal for the 22nd Annual Fitger's 5K Run/Walk, but the race, like the postal service, will go on despite the weather.....unless there's lightning. There is a record 1, 739 participants this year, a few wanting to be in the top 10, but most using this as training for Grandma's Marathon or the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon coming up in June. March 16, 2011 Whether you are running the Fitger's 5K, the William A. Irvin 5K, Grandma's Half or Full Marathon, the time has come! I can actually say I'm NOT a fair-weathered runner anymore. I bundle up and run when it's below zero, and run in the rain (actually preferred because I stay cool). If you ARE a fair-weathered runner, Spring starts this week-end and you are out of excuses. This website can help......
January 17, 2011 It's been rumored that I run Grandma's Half Marathon every year just to get out of broadcasting that day. Honestly, my co-workers put in a day that involves more energy and stamina than if I were to run the full marathon!
