April 17, 2013 Before I went for my evening run last night, I read through the latest developments from the FBI and learned of the many heroes that weren't expecting that title on what was to be a day at the Boston Marathon. As our thoughts continue to be with those that were affected physically and emotionally by the Boston Marathon bombings, many area runners are preparing for the Fitger's 5K, this Saturday. Every year the Duluth Police Department provides a traffic advisory and I would wanted to share that with you to help plan the best route for your travel that day.

July 27, 2012 Dr. Nancy I. English was and still is loved by many. Those "many" share a tribute to her every year with a Memorial 5k Walk/Run. Money raised at the event is used for scholarships to women studying in the medical field at UMD. If you want to participate in the event, you can still sign up the day of the race.
July 24, 2012 The Young Athletes Foundation is starting up Wednesday Night At The Races tomorrow evening at Bayfront Festival Park. It's free for kids 14 and under! The race starts at 6pm, but parents and kids can come register starting at 5pm. It's a great time for the family, and it encourages physical activity in our children.
