Safety is a concern, so only the decorative lights on the Blatnik Bridge will be off during the two year preservation project that started this month.

May 17, 2012 Earlier this week you may have heard of a construction project in Duluth that would have closed the Northbound I-535 ramp over Garfield Avenue in Duluth.
May 16, 2012 It's been a little frustrating, hasn't it? A lot of us were really hopeful that last year the I-35 Mega Project was done. 2 years of avoiding I-35, and using alternate routes was finally over, right? Wrong. Not quite yet. According to the MN Dot website, it should be completed by June. To add to the frustration, work has begun on the Blatnik Bridge.

The northbound lanes of I-535 at the Blatnik Bridge will close next Monday and remain closed until mid-summer!!! You'll want to find an alternative route, and remember to use it. May I suggest, the Bong Bridge?
May 8, 2012 More road construction projects are starting every day, and May is a month where a lot of them begin. The MN DOT has announced that Highway 210 will be single lane in each direction beginning May 10th -May 24th between Cromwell and Wright
May 5, 2012 Why let I35 have all the fun? As summer in the Northland approaches, the road repairs and construction are right there waiting. I just received word that projects to build a new bridge over Highway 53 at Highway 33 and repair the northbound Highway 53 bridge over the Cloquet River in Independence begin May 8.
From the press release, the following lane restrictions are scheduled:

We've already seen some road work continuing on I-35, and now the latest project is the Anderson Road Reconstruction Project. July 27, 2011 With road construction back in full swing, it's VERY important for drivers to understand this. Use both lanes during backups, even if it says lane closed ahead. You are suppose to wait until you reach the point where the lane ends
March 29, 2011 April 4th, 2011 is the beginning of this year's I-35 Mega Project. Like last year, we can expect at times 2 lane traffic through the interstate downtown. We shouldn't feel the impact quite as much as we did last year, but there are other projects nearby this summer as well.
