While they appreciate the work and we will eventually appreciate their work, it still means we need to slow down to keep them safe and find alternate routes to our destinations. Here's what you need to know.
Ugh. That's what we will all be saying come road construction season. This year will be a record year for the amount of orange cones on the road. I don't know about you, but I think we deserve a break commuting after the last couple of years we had here in the Twin Ports.
It's March, you think you wouldn't have to worry about finding an alternative route to work or school. But, starting March 21, if your travel includes Northbound I-35 or Duluth bound I-525, you will. Here's the specifics:
Little by little, the Duluth Lakewalk is being extended, offering even more scenic beauty for exercise and recreation. (not that exercising can't be fun)! I realize that during the construction period it can be frustrating with delays and travel inconveniences, but if you are aware of the detours ahead of time that frustration can be avoided. Here's the detours we know of at this time.
You'll be able to drive in both directions on the Blatnik Bridge beginning Friday. The drive from Duluth to Superior will be restricted to one lane early next week, it will be nice to have both lanes available once again.
Talk about frustrating! The bridge construction this summer has been a major inconvienance on anyone who travels back and forth between Duluth and Superior. This is an example of how bad it can really get.
