Review

We were up splitting wood at the hunting shack when my old man showed me his new birthday present my mom got him.  It's a Fiskars Splitting Axe.  At first I didn't think too much about it, but then I tried splitting a couple of logs.  It's lightweight, and it splits wood effortlessly.

I finally got the chance to try a Burger King Whopperito.  If you're unfamiliar with it, it's a Whopper that's been thrown into a burrito wrapper.  You add a little taco sauce and you've got a new menu item.   How would this taste?

I've blogged about ALDI before and what a great deal it is.  We've come to do most of our grocery shopping there now.  For the most part it hasn't been hard for us to switch to the "off brand" items, but I've been pretty hesitant to give up my name brand frozen pizzas.  How would the Mama Cozzi's pizza taste?  It was dirt cheap so we had to try it.

I was in the grocery store yesterday on my way to the check out when I saw Coke Life.  It caught my eye as it was in a green can.  It said lower calorie Coke.  I thought I would give it a shot as it said it's made with real cane sugar.   It doesn't have any of the high fructose corn syrup crap.

I love margaritas, but I have a hard time with the fact that they are packed with sugar.  So much so that your average margarita is 350-500 calories.  Get a big enough one and it's the equivalent of eating a stack of candy bars.   Sometimes when I'm out shopping I'll try a new low calorie option to see how it goes.   Up until now, they've all tasted pretty terrible.  This time I tried the more exp

The season 6 finale of TWD left us on a cliffhanger, as was promised.  But I have a problem with the way they did it and the use of cliffhangers all season long.  In fact, when the credits rolled I, I rolled my eyes not believing that they've done it again.

I felt the need to share this with you, because I took a gamble on a movie on Netflix and it paid off.  That isn't always the case, so it's important that we share when we find a good one.   I watched the 2014 film "Hector And The Search For Happiness."  It stars Simon Pegg, and it's an entertaining comedy drama that will make you feel good.

Sierra Nevada has stepped into the Oktoberfest beer ring!  They've actually partnered with an old Germany brewery to come up with this beer, and they've made a wonderful child together.

I've always preferred the taste of charcoal grilling preferred to gas grilling.  I think most people agree that it just tastes better.   But what about hickory charcoal?

Our friend Joe stopped by and dropped off some Oreo 'Thins' for us to try.  He works for Nabisco and will sneak us a few samples.   They quickly turned into Cathy's new favorite Oreo!
