April 30, 2012 Grandmas Marathon announced today that registration for the 19th Annual William A. Irvin 5K is now closed. This race takes place the evening before Grandmas Marathon and this year allowed 1,900 registrants, which was an increase of 200 from last year.
April 23, 2012 Registration is now open for northern Minnesota's oldest road race - the Park Point 5-Miler. This years race is the evening of July 20th. If you're already training for Grandmas Marathon weekend, run 5k's or want to make this a first organized run, I think you should totally go for it. It's a nice Friday evening and even though it's been warm and humid the past several years, there are friendly Park Point residents there to cheer you on and spray you with a hose.
April 19, 2012 I was hooking up a trailer to my truck a few days ago when I noticed that my plates were expired. Oh crap! How did that happen? The mail leprechaun must have stolen one of my bills again. (Seems to happen sometimes.)
