Every year in April, thousands of old school music fans flock to record stores in celebration of national Record Store Day. This year, the Pistol Annies will join in on the fun–and capitalize on the musical tastes of throwback listeners–with the April 21 release of ‘Hell on Heels’ on vinyl. That’s today!
The Pistol Annies‘ song from ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack has just been made available for listen in full, thanks to an early leak to YouTube. ‘Run Daddy Run’ was released by Track City. Listen below to hear the heavy, brooding tune which seems like a perfect fit for one of the film’s more desperate scenes.
The 2011 American Country Awards on Fox is quickly becoming another must watch live television broadcast. Top country talents like Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies and Trace Adkins are on the early list of performers. With over a month to go before the Dec. 5 ceremony, more names are sure to be announced.
It’s not clear what it is, but Pistol Annies are up to something. The all-female country trio featuring Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe are just two months removed from releasing their debut album, but already seem to be working on something new.
Turns out those Pistol Annies are pretty good shots — after setting their sights on chart domination, they delivered with one of the year’s most impressive debuts.
The trio’s first album, ‘Hell on Heels,’ emerged on top of Billboard’s Country Album charts in its first week, moving enough units to also earn a number five debut on the overall Top 200.

We still have a week to wait for the Pistol Annies‘ debut, but the hot new country trio is taking the edge off the wait by offering advance streams of five songs from the album.
