It happens every new year, you have great intentions, you enthusiastically put together a list and then you get busy. The list gets shoved under papers, you find it and stress a little because you haven't gotten to it and ultimately it gets forgotten. Not this year, I'm here to help! Wow, the City of Duluth is on top of it this year. While on their website I noticed that you can already go online and get your pet licensed for 2017. I've lived in the country most of my life, so moving to Duluth was a culture shock where pets are concerned. My dog is now on a leash in the yard for safety concerns, his and that of people passing by. Before you get busier with holiday festivities, get your 2017 Pet License renewed and cross it off your list.
Animal Allies will have cats and dogs road trippin' to Miller Hill Subaru for adoption this Saturday 10a-5p and Sunday from 11am-2pm. This event highlights discounted dog and cat adoptions. It's definitely not too early to get your Holiday Pet Photos for your holiday cards and you can do it here, plus there's free micro-chipping with a donation to the Animal Allies wish list.
Unfortunately there are tragic stories each summer about pets and children left in vehicles on hot summer days. The holidays are behind us and we are thinking about our end-of-the-year tasks that need to be done, like getting stuff together for taxes. One thing that gets overlook is licensing our pets. I lived in the country most of my life, so moving to Duluth was a culture shock where pets are concerned. My dog is now on a leash in the yard for safety concerns, his and that of people passing by. If you haven't already filled out your 2016 Pet License yet, it's time and if you're renewing you can do it online this year.
Kids, families and even dogs are invited to get their picture taken with Santa at the Fitger's Complex. Donations benefit the Northern Lights Foundation and other non-profit organizations. It's FREE to military families and pets are more than welcome! (especially when I'm there volunteering!)
Halloween can be a very stressful time on your pet, even if they are the easy going sociable type. All the noises outside, strangers continually at the door, and extra excitement going on inside the house too.
Daryl talked about a cat this morning. Animal Allies PR guy brought up the fact that Queenie, aptly named, will probably take over your household. She is a loyal cat, as he points out, but likes to rule the roost.
