I am not warped, there is a reason why I came up with the top 5 most popular insects of our area that should be used in insect-inspired food.  Because a museum in Houston has a vending machine that carries only snacks made from insect parts.  I thought why not get rid of our top 5 most annoying Northland insects, can you guess which 5 they are?

This year the mosquito were ridiculous!  I know, I know, we had a late winter, more snow and that lead to a wet Spring.  Mosquitoes hatch their babies in water, therefore we had an abundance of the little blood suckers.  One family in Minnesota feels our pain and has come up with a great idea for those that aren't going to let the little pests keep us inside.

The City of Superior has dealt with gypsy moths and emerald ash bore recently.  In fact my co-host Ken Hayes had to have a tree from his boulevard removed because of the threat.  Now the Minnesota Department of Agriculture says we need to treat 1,200 acres of land in the City of Duluth to slow the spread of a gypsy moth infestation.
