We hear of black ice, but you don't SEE it. That's because it's defined as "invisible". It forms when air temperature is warmer than the temperature of the pavement. This creates a thin layer of transparent ice on the roadway. Because of this, drivers are completely unaware of it's presence. Here's tips on what to do, when you encounter black ice, from the MN Department of Transportation.

Blatnik Bridge Lighting Project Open House Scheduled August 29th In Duluth

It's a chance to get the inside scoop on the lighting of the Blatnik Bridge. We've received word from the Minnesota Department Of Transportation that the public is invited to an open house to learn more about a new lighting system being designed for the Blatnik Bridge in Duluth. The new lighting system will replace the original lighting system that had previously lit the center span on the bridge.
