While I'm glad that my kids play a variety of sports at young ages, I'll always have a soft spot for baseball.  I have fond memories of playing catch and hitting baseballs with my dad and my friends.  As more kids get pushed into playing just one sport or two, baseball seems to be getting squeezed out.  That is why I'm a huge fan of the announcement made today by the Twins Community Fund. Lake Park Little League Team Finishes 3rd At Midwest Regions
The little league team from Lakeside in Duluth, MN fell short of advancing to the Jr. Little League World Series, but their accomplishment on finishing third is quite and achievment.  There are over 600 teams in the Midwest region and placing 3rd is nothing to scoff at.
